Alistair Paxton
Born and raised near Glasgow in Scotland, Alistair has been a Brooklyn resident for the past four years. After receiving a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Music from University of Glasgow, he worked and traveled as a musician, composer/sound designer and instructor. After recently joining the Co-Op School as part of the afterschool program in March 2011, he is now delighted to become an integral part of the next Flight of the Bumblebees. He brings to the classroom understanding, support, encouragement and a strange accent.
Angelica Martinez
Angelica is a city girl with a country heart. She recently graduated from Brooklyn College with a Master's Degree in Childhood Education Mathematics. She also has a Bachelor's Degree in Childhood Education with a concentration in Children's Studies. She currently lives in the Bronx with her husband and overweight cat, Leo (he looks, acts and eats like Garfield). She loves to bake, travel, spend time with her family and most of all, teach. Ever since she was a little girl, her heart and mind were set on becoming a teacher. She wanted to bring the joy that her teachers brought into her own life into the lives of her students. She hopes to accomplish this with her Bumblebee class.
Allison-Rose Woodin
Born in Bethlehem, Connecticut, 24 year old Allison-Rose now lives in Bushwick with her 5 cats (not as crazy as it sounds). Allison graduated from Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon where she received a BFA in painting. Through College she had the opportunity to take many internships teaching children of different ages and after graduating she worked at two day-care centers before she found her position here at the Co-Op School. Allison loves working with children of all ages and enjoys being able to spend one-on-one time with each individual child to really learn about and understand them. She thrives on the endless creativity of young children and their capacity for imagination and their ability to make something out of anything. In Allison's spare time she's busy playing with her cats, going for bike rides, making her own art, going to shows, watching movies, eating and sleeping.
