Meredith Gray, Director of the Co-op School, was raised in the sunny south. She moved to Brooklyn when she was 18 years old to attend Pratt Institute and become a famous artist. Meredith has worked in public and private schools from Fort Greene to East New York, from Harlem to the Lower East Side, and even Ciapas, Mexico. She has been at the Co-op School since its inception. First as a filler for her sister’s parent volunteer shifts, then as an art teacher, moving on to summer camp director, and then finally succumbing to the board's requests and taking over as director. She began as a lead teacher and director of a school that housed thirteen families. Six years later the school has grown to ninety-three families and a staff of sixteen. Through all the moving and growing, Meredith has been there. She has navigated challenging waters with professionalism and sensitivity, and brought a lot of fun to the school along the way!
